H2 Ecodesign’s Holley Henderson initiated and was encouraged to grow a prominent International Architecture and Design firm’s Sustainable Vision. A Sustainable Business Plan was written looking at all aspects of environmental design from a business venture vantage point. Based on the Sustainable Business Plan’s outcome, including results of, historical data, competitive analysis, fee structure, and educational systems, a focus on sustainable design was launched. An advanced version of the firm’s Sustainable Design effort was initiated making it a viable part of the business enterprise.⁽¹⁾ Since that original business plan was written, several other entities have found value in the process, see some of the results:

Within just over two years the International Design Firm⁽¹⁾ had implemented the following:

Example: Collaborating with Designers with a goal of LEED CI Platinum, the team was encouraged to go through their design and selection process of interior applied finishes. Once those finishes were selected, they were analyzed and - if needed - equivalent options (in keeping with LEED-CI criteria) were offered to the Interior Design Team. With H2 Ecodesign’s design background, they know the importance of blending function, aesthetic, budget and LEED requirements.

FACILITATOR / SPECIFIER PERSPECTIVE

Kicking off several projects with LEED Analysis / Charettes, H2 Ecodesign can coordinate facilitating the LEED process. With the experience of implementing documentation and integration into design documents H2 Ecodesign has valuable project specific knowledge of how to implement the most efficient systems for certification.

Example: The first LEED-CI Platinum Pilot Certification of the Interface Flooring Showroom and Office gives in-depth “hand-on” and high level experience.⁽¹⁾
